Time to ‘Gate! – Beer Brisket

With the National Football League is celebrating its 100th season, it is time to ‘gate! The 2019-2020 football season has started and fans are gearing up for game day fun & food before the match-ups on the field. Polls show that a majority of football viewers prefer to “homegate” (watch the game from theirs or a friends home) as opposed to tailgate at the game. As for which games they are watching, it is pretty evenly divided between college games & NFL games. We stand with the homegate crowd rooting for the pros.

It took several decades, but the NFL was the first professional football league to be established nationwide, back in 1920. Two teams currently in the league have been in it since the league’s inception. The Chicago Bears (formerly the Decatur Staleys) and the Arizona Cardinals (previously know as the Chicago Cardinals) were joined by the Green Bay Packers (once known as the Green Bay Acme Packers) in 1921. Of these 3 long running teams, the Packers are the oldest NFL franchise with a continuous operation in the same location, but the Arizona Cardinals, established in 1898, is the oldest NFL team.

We kicked off our ‘gating season a few weeks ago with this Beer Brisket recipe. It would work for either a tailgate or a homegate!
