Despite using lots of basil in a chicken dish last week, there is still plenty more of it growing in containers on our deck. So into the drink some basil goes!
My first experience of gin & tonic was on a cold January day a few years back at a mixology class I attended. I was not much of a gin drinker before that, but I have since become a fan of the spirit and I love experiencing it in new cocktails. This one is perfect for the dog days of August that are already upon us. It is made light and refreshing by muddling cucumber slices and basil together in a riff on gin & tonic. As they say in the Netherlands where gin originated, Proost!
